The 1973 World Championship Tennis circuit was one of the two rival professional male tennis circuits of 1973. It was organized by World Championship Tennis (WCT). The WCT circuit divided the players into two groups of 32 players, with each group playing 11 tournaments of the 22 tournaments.

Roy Stanley Emerson, born 3 November 1936, is an Australian former number one amateur tennis player who won 12 amateur Grand Slam tournament singles titles and 16 amateur Grand Slam tournament men's doubles titles. His 28 amateur Major titles are an all-time record for a male player. Roy Emerson is the first male player to win each amateur Major title at least twice in his career.
